CD Release Party at Two Boots

The Paula G Reality, the original rock and jam band from Westport, had a show to celebrate the release of the group’s self-titled CD. The band performed set of mostly original songs at Two Boots in Bridgeport on Saturday, April 14. The Band- Droidz – an original regggae/rock band from Brooklyn – followed with a great show. The show was a benefit for WPKN 89.5FM - which debuted the Paula G Reality CD in December, 2011.

The benefit for WPKN capped a busy few months for the band. First they had a successful Kickstarter campaign to raise money for the recording. Then the band debuted the CD on Bob D’Aprile’s Connecticut Rocks Program on WPKN on December 29, 2011. The band performed New Year’s Eve with special guest Charlie Karp, the emmy-award winner guitar player who appears on two cuts on the recording.

In February vocalist Paula Gallo and keyboard player John Lamb performed with Band Together for a sold-out show at Fairfield Theater Company to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association. The entire CD is available for download now at ITunes:

Music changes lives.

A new recording from a Westport, Connecticut-based indie-rock band is proof of that.

The Paula G Reality’s new self-titled CD has been a project that’s been brewing on the back burner for years. It took a life changing event to bring it front and center.

Paula Gallo has been involved in music since childhood. She took piano lessons, sang in the chorus, and made music with friends throughout high school and college.

While Paula was talented in music she also was talented in art. So after graduating college she became a graphic designer eventually landing a lucrative corporate job that included worldwide travel.

However, in the economic downturn in 2008 Gallo found herself unemployed – and mired in depression.

One day a friend gave her a ticket to a music show featuring a group called Band Together that has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for charity. That event changed her life.

“I met a whole community of people that were making a difference with music. It rekindled my passion for music,” said Gallo.

She began teaching music lessons in piano and voice.

She also started singing at local bars gaining notice and fans. Her powerful singing voice soon earned her gigs as a sideman for various bands including Band Together, who she performed with at the annual Connecticut music festival, the Gathering of the Vibes.

In 2010, Paula formed her own band with keyboard player John Lamb aka LambBone . Lamb has four solo CDs to his credit including Wild Man in 2008. The two started writing original songs for the new band. Lamb brought in drummer Jim Syarto and guitar player Scott Williams to go with his own thumping Moog bass which is one of the band’s signature sounds.

The band has already landed some big gigs and has been hooking up with some music heavyweights.

Their New York debut took place in May, 2011 at the Samsung Experience at Time Warner Center.

Emmy award winning guitar player Charlie Karp consulted on the recordings and appears on two tracks. The recording was produced by Mark Hermann, whose production credits include Five for Fighting and The Tudors on Showtime.

So for Paula Gallo this is not just another record, it’s a celebration of a lifetime of passion for music finally becoming a reality – the Paula G Reality.

Band Together Alzheimer’s Association Benefit Sells Out

On February 16, 2012, Paula Gallo and John Lamb from The Paula G Reality performed with Band Together at the Fairfield Theater Company to benefit the Alzheimer’s Assicaition. The sold out performance also featured Nicole Frechette, Scott White, Mike Cusato, Rob Fried, Billy Genaurio, Tara Engler, Jerry Vigorito and many other great musicians.

Karp got the gig as the lead guitar player for the Buddy Miles Express at age 16 and performed on his hits including Them Changes and Down by the River.

The new CD from the Paula G Reality has gone to press. A CD release concert will be announced soon.
